Chris “Sandy” Sanders, a manager and player for the Falmouth Eagles 2XV, fell away on Saturday, December 2, from a heart attack that occurred not long after the team’s game versus Mount Austell Spartans.

Although there was hope at first, the heroic efforts of the club’s first responders and emergency service professionals were ineffective, and chairman John Bullock conveyed the devastating news to the Clubhouse. Following Sandy’s tragic passing, the Cornish rugby community came together on social media to express their grief and pay tribute to the Falmouth legend who, for more than forty years, had stood as a pillar of strength, a hero, and an example to countless others.
