Supernatural or just a super-reflective surface?
Homeowner Robert Mansfield says he spotted an “angel” on his Ring doorbell camera — but not everyone is convinced.
The father of three, 33, was stunned when he saw the security footage which showed his partner, Stephanie Scott, 31, and their 7-year-old son, Oskar, arriving at their home in Leicestershire, England, last month accompanied by a mysterious glow.
Mansfield took to Facebook to share footage of the doorbell vision, where it has clocked up 500,000 views and a whole lot of debate.
Rather than being spooked by the thought of a supernatural being hovering outside their home, Mansfield is convinced it was a sign from his late father, Mick Mansfield, who died decades ago.
“We’ve had a tough time recently, so seeing something like that makes you think someone’s out there watching out for you” Mansfield told Kennedy News.
“We always say my dad is my kids’ guardian angel so seeing something like that is heart-warming,” he continued.
While some naysayers are convinced it’s a reflection of son Oskar’s jacket, the father insists he’s “researched” other times his son has worn the coat on camera. He says the same white apparition doesn’t show up.
“I’ve never experienced something like this before, it was amazing and it gave us comfort,” Mansfield exclaimed.
He shared the video to Facebook accompanied by a caption which read: “I cannot believe me and Steph caught a flying angel on our door bell. You can see the wings, the lot. If you look carefully you see the lights go bright then when it disappears the lights go dull.”
However, some skeptics quickly took to the comments section trying to pour cold water on any supernatural claims.
“That’s the reflection off the boy’s coat,” one declared. “A lot of footy lads wore these in the day as it affects cameras from capturing the faces of those offending.”
Others, however, believed the apparition was indeed an angel.
“Definitely not a reflection as it looks like the angel wings are flapping,” one stunned believer wrote.
“So beautiful,” another concurred.
