Jairzinho Rozenstruik hit Alistair Overeem so hard his lip seemed to explode in brutal UFC win

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is back in action this weekend as he takes on Poland's Marcin Tybura on the prelims of UFC 273.

The 34-year-old heavyweight comes into the match in Florida on Saturday night on the back of a loss to Curtis Blaydes in September, but is still a very dangerous man who does not stop fighting - Alistair Overeem will tell you as much. *WARNING - GRAPHIC IMAGE BELOW

The two fought in 2019 and Overeem was in control and looked to be heading for victory until what some might call a 'Hail Mary' overhand right from Rozenstruik stopped the fight with four seconds to go.

Overeem fell to the floor and discovered part of his lip was missing in one of the most gruesome injuries you're ever likely to see.

“That’s what we worked for. One shot, one kill,” Rozenstruik said following the knockout at 4:56 in the fifth round, adding that he knew how much time he had left, suggesting if his opponent had kept focus he maybe wouldn't have landed the punch.

"There was seconds [remaining], but still I didn't give up and put more pressure on him. He let go. I think if he was keeping focus for a few more seconds, then maybe I would have missed."

Overeem, though, thought it was stopped too early, revealing his thoughts once his lip was stitched up.

Getting stitched up. Lip not to sexy at the moment.. a little bit a fast stoppage if u ask me - but hope u guys enjoyed the fight 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽😌

In December 2011, he made his debut at UFC 141 and finished Brock Lesnar with a body kick and punches.he was finished with punches.
