Ruby Lee Fentress Metropolitan Funeral

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (John 14:1)

Ruby Lee Fentress, Grandma as she was affectionately known by all,  quietly entered her eternal rest Sunday, November 5, at her residence, 628 Timon Ct. Virginia Beach, VA.

Ruby Fentress was born on February 13, 1952 in Norfolk, VA. She was the eldest child of both her parents. Ruby was a remarkable mother, auntie, grandmother, sister and friend. She is predeceased by her parents, and a few of her siblings.

Ruby had a beautiful soul who loved to be around family and friends. She always showed them tough love. And never met a stranger. She loved to bowl, listen to music, talk on the phone and to watch WWE, Days of our Lives, General Hospital and Walker Texas Ranger. She also loved the color red. Maybe that’s why she would always tell people she was born on Valentine’s day. She worked as a custodian at Did Lake for 20 years until her retirement.

Ruby attended the New Bethlehem Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ where she joined in 2010. At the Church she participated in the Women’s Ministry and often attended the Church until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memory, life partner, William Jennette, sons, Anthony Fentress, Nathaniel Fentress (Sharmillia “Millie” Riddick), Granddaughters Cassandra “Sandy” Parham, Jolisa Parham, Ayonna “Yonna” Fentress-Parham (Mia Crouch), Raven Wiggins, Grandsons Brandon Wright (Marquisha “Qui”), Clarence Parham, Nathan Parham (Mychelle Spry), Trayvon Grant, Dae’sean Fentress, Nathaniel Fentress-Griffin, Naujujaun Parham (Leanaida Pace), Rahmeesh Parham, Santana Parham, And a host great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, two sisters Robin Crawford, Angela Fentress, Goddaughter Yolanda Harris, nieces, nephews and a host of friends as well as the staff of @Heart Hospice.
